St. John's and new coach, Steve Lavin have made their way into the running for Rice, NY star big man Kadeem Jack. What was once a 4 team race has now been expanded to 5.

As of right now, Jack has plans to visit UConn sometime this weekend. Arkansas is slated to receive the final visit from Jack on April 23, less than a week before he is scheduled to make his decision on April 28. St. John's has jumped in late, but are also considering hiring Jack's high school head coach, Moe Hicks, as it's Director of Basketball Operations. There is an NCAA rule that would keep Jack from playing for St. John's if that occurs.

To this point Jack has visited both Arizona and Miami, and enjoyed both visits. He spoke about how high he was on the Wildcats after his first official visit to Tuscon in late January.

"After I first went there, I was on cloud nine because it was the first time I'd seen a college atmosphere," Jack said. "I think it was a good thing my parents and advisor didn't allow me to just make a decision after I saw that I was like, 'I want to go there.' But after a couple of weeks I came back down to earth."

Jack made it clear that wherever he goes, the miles between there and home will not be a factor in his decision.

"The distance doesn't matter to me," Jack said. "Just going to a place where the coach will develop me, turn me into a pro player one day. The distance doesn't matter."

Whatever happens will go down fairly quickly, as Jack is set to decide in eight days. There is no clear leader at this point.
