Arnett Moultrie, a 6'11 power forward who recently withdrew from the NBA draft and will transfer from UTEP, has a host of schools chasing after him hoping to land his services.
Gary Parrish reported in his blog earlier today that "though Moultrie's hometown school remains in play, developements over the last 48 hours suggest Mississippi State and Arkansas have made strong pushes and positioned themselves well."
Problem is, Parrish's sources are now telling him that UTEP, which has already apparently placed penalties on a transfer to Memphis, may not release him to Mississippi St. or Arkansas either. If true, Moultrie would have to pay his own way during the first year at either school, then be on scholarship for the 2011-12 season.
It's no secret Arkansas is looking to add a big man. Though the need is more an immediate one, it wouldn't hurt to add a potential NBA type talent to the already talented 2011 class, which has commitments from two top 50 prospects.
