Hunter Morris hit two of the Tigers' four home runs in the top of the fifth to fuel an eight-run inning by Auburn and a 8-7Tiger victory.
The Razorbacks topped Auburn, 9-4, Friday night. The rubber match is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
With the loss, the Hogs fell to 35-9 overall and 14-6 in the SEC. With South Carolina's loss at Alabama, the Hogs could have moved into first place in the SEC, but the Tigers (29-15, 11-9 SEC) would have none of that.
The Hogs opened the game with three runs in the first and held the lead behind three strong innings by pitcher Randall Fant. But the second time through the line-up, the Tigers chased Fant after Morris hit his first homer and Dan Gamanche followed it up with a two-run dinger that put Auburn up 4-3.
Jeremy Hunter took over for Fant, but quickly gave up a two-run double to Auburn's Brian Fletcher and another solo shot by Morris. D.J. Baxendale got the Hogs out of the inning but the damage was done, leaving the Tigers ahead 8-3.
In the sixth, James McCann drove in Andy Wilkins with a single to pull the Hogs within 8-4, and in the seventh, Wilkins drove in Zach Cox with a two-out single, trimming Auburn's lead to 8-5. Brett Eibner kept the rally alive by scoring on a wild pitch, reducing Arkansas' deficit to 8-6.
After a Bo Bigham out, Cox and Eibner each hit singles, putting the tying runs on for Andy Wilkins. Wilkins slapped a single to plate Cox to cut the Auburn lead to 8-7, and Eibner moved from first to third just beating the tag at third. A short pop fly by Monk Creder kept Eibner on third base.
For the third time this season, Tom Hauskey was called into the lineup for a critical hit. Hauskey had ninth-inning, two-out game-winning hits earlier this season to defeat New Mexico and Alabama. But this time, the Springdale native struck out, stranding two.
